Summer Term 2021 – Plans

Firstly, the bad bit – as I’m sure you’ve guessed we’re not quite in the position yet to go back to face to face singing yet so we’ll still be online for a bit longer – but we’ve read your survey responses and we’ve got a good plan about what we’re going to do. Read on…

I’m not sure which songs we will be singing each session yet but if you have any requests do give me a shout and I’ll pass these on.

What’s happening in the missing weeks where there is no session? See below…

ADDITIONAL SESSIONS: SONG WRITING
This term we’d like to offer something a little bit different alongside the social and singing sessions. A group, led of course by Ali, are going to come together to write some words that would then be set to make into a song/reading as part of our planned the “earth’ concert.

The Songwriting Sessions will be on (at normal SongTribe time):
5th May
9th June
7th July
There will be a session in August (date TBC)

There will be a little bit of homework between sessions so we can make the sessions as productive as possible. No experience necessary!

If you’d like to take part in the Songwriting Sessions you should register/book here (this is essential):https://forms.gle/Cow5cpyp3zwXvYuB7

There is no extra payment needed to take part in these.

As always the zoom link will stay the same for all sessions:

DROPBOX LINK
I am hoping it will stay the same as last term – I’ll let you know if this changes. Here it is (you may need to update your bookmark):

PAYMENTS/STANDING ORDERS
Normally we recommend choir members to pay, on average, £22 per month by standing order to take part in the choir. This term, please do look at your participation and feel free to adjust your standing order accordingly (if you’re not attending many sessions please don’t feel that you need to pay full fees). As always, do not worry at all if you cannot afford this – we don’t want money to exclude anyone from taking part – these are tough times. If you are able to pay a little more to help others take part who struggle to afford it, please do feel free. I’ve attached the payment details in case you need them.

WISTON NEWS
Firstly the less good news – as I’m sure you’ve predicted, our trip to Wiston has had to be postponed from July due to Covid. However, the good news is we are planning now to go from the 19th to 23rd August – put the dates in your diary. If that doesn’t look possible after the next couple of months then we can reschedule to the 21st to 25th October. If you are a resting/former member you are still welcome to come with us – I know this affects a few of you. We’ll let you know more when we know 🙂

I think that is everything! Ali looks forward to seeing you on zoom on the 21st April.
