Join the Gatherings for a stupendous weekend of authentic gospel singing with Kathy Bullock along with newly composed songs from Alison Burns, one of the UK’s leading songwriters for community choirs.
Dr. Kathy Bullock is a professor of music at Berea College in Kentucky. Kathy also runs workshops specializing in gospel music, spirituals and classical music of the African diaspora, sharing the sheer joy of this musical culture everywhere she goes.
Alison Burns is a songwriter and arranger who loves to write for community choirs – songs with lush, beautiful harmonies and simple, profound text that are easy enough to learn by ear but satisfying and special to sing. Many of her songs have found their way into the repertoire – and hearts – of singers across the UK, and increasingly the USA and Australia. Her songs are published by Faber, Signalong and Oxford University Press.
“Her workshops are a harbour in a changing and troubled world …. her songs a powerful reminder that we need each other’s friendship and support to survive.”
Early bird rate: £80 until 31st December (includes lunches/teas/coffees)
Full price from 1st January 2020: £95
